Drama Society

The Burman University Drama Society was founded in 2011 to provide extracurricular (and at times extra credit) opportunities for students who like to express their more artistic side. Since its inception, the Society has produced a variety of plays ranging from comedy to period drama, from Shakespeare to modern writers and imaginative re-interpretations of classic stories.

The Society welcomes all who share a love of theatre, and holds auditions for their annual productions in the first semester of each school year.

Sponsors:

Julie Thompson (Founding Director, Producer)

Danae Brousson (Artistic Director)

Adam Deibert (Technical Director)

We are excited to announce the 2025-2026 production, Anne of Green Gables. Based on the classic story by L.M. Montgomery and adapted for the stage by Sylvia Ashby, this production has been charming audiences worldwide for over 35 years.

With a wonderfully diverse cast that captures all the colourful characters of Avonlea, you will be delighted as you journey with Anne Shirley from her unexpected arrival at Green Gables as a young girl to her tumultuous maturity into a young woman. Along the way, her imagination and antics create memorable moments as she touches the lives of those around her.
