Burman University Singers

The Burman University Singers are commemorating a half-century of music ministry!

Under the direction of Dr. Wendolin Pazitka-Munroe since 1977, the main choir and the smaller chamber choir have gone by several different names over the years. Whether performing as the PAA Singers, CUC Singers, CUC/PAA Choral Union, or today's Burman University Singers, the purpose has remained the same: to carry the message of God's love in song to the campus community, across Canada and North America, and beyond. This is best captured in the choir's guiding Scripture verse, taken from Romans 15:6.

SAVE THE DATE - COME CELEBRATE!

In honour of the choir's 50th anniversary under Dr. Munroe's direction, alumni from both the college and high school choirs are invited to come back to the Hilltop on the weekend of March 19-21, 2027 for the golden jubilee featuring music from the current choir as well as a mass choir of singers past and present.

Registration for the weekend will open during the last week of September and run through the end of December. Registration will include group meals and activities, musical scores, and commemorative items. Only registered alumni will be able to participate in the mass choir. Upcoming Events for the 2026-2027 Season

• November 27 & 28, 2026 - Get in the Christmas spirit with the choir's annual Christmas concert. With sacred songs from a range of genres, seats for this highly anticipated event fill up quickly, so plan now to attend.
  • Time: November 27, 7:30 pm; November 28, 5:00 pm
  • Location: College Heights Seventh-day Adventist Church on the campus of Burman University.
• February 7, 2027 - Black Tie Dinner. A must-attend yearly event. Bring your favourite people and dress up for an elegant evening of delicious food for body and soul. Featuring music performed by the whole choir as well as soloists and smaller groups, this light-hearted evening is a true delight. 
  • Time: 7:00 pm
  • Location: The Vedge cafeteria on the campus of Burman University.
  • This is a ticketed event. Tickets will be available for purchase by the end of November.
• March 19 & 20, 2027 - Celebrating 50 years of music ministry under the direction of Dr. Wendolin Pazitka-Munroe. Join us for two different programs featuring music from the current choir as well as a mass choir of alumni from the past fifty years. This will be a high weekend of praise and celebration for a half-century of ministry in music that you won't want to miss.

Unless otherwise noted, admission to all programs is free of charge. A freewill offering will be taken at certain events to support the choir's annual expenses including the spring tour.
